Just had a costly experience with Skinny Broadband, signed up for a 12 month plan last week, the modem was sent out immediately which is amazing, the connection was set up, awesome, but to the house next door. The wrong address was in their system, which at first I thought maybe I put it into the system wrong myself, but then I always double check. So I checked with my neighbor to see if they had received the modem which they assured me they hadn't, spoke to a customer service rep who was very helpful, he made the correction on the address and assured me it wouldn't cost me anything to have the connection properly done and a new modem sent out, however when I phoned this morning to find out the progress, they still had the wrong address in their system and I was informed I would be charged a $99 installation fee because they had already made the connection and sent out the modem to the wrong address. So instead of having anymore issues with Skinny I opted to pay the $199 cancellation fee and I'm signing up with another mobile provider as well. So if you sign up with any company, maybe don't sign up online and double check they have the correct information before committing to anything. ...read more

Slingshot went awry last year during their Fibre rollout. Tech came and put it "mostly" right. Never a good solid landline connection. This year they employed "bully boy" tactics when trying to get me to put in Fibre. Even though it was up to my landlord they kept trying to insist I go ahead without permission. In the meantime my internet has not worked at all for the last month and I still need to pay for it as I refuse to have another technician come and put on a leaky patch. Don't touch with a barge pole - had internet with them for 2 years and every single time I needed customer service they made the process an absolute nightmare. Nobody ever got back to you and they had no idea what they were doing. Also internet often cut out and not cheap.

After 30yrs with Telecom/Spark and finally after advising them that my contract had terminated. Spark can’t offer a similar deal that I had for the last 12 months. Which is $65 /m on unlimited 100/20 fibre naked boardband. The can’t only offer $89 for 12 month contract. They are other ISP that can do better than Spark. But Myrepbulic was a good deal. And I had friends that are with them.

Ive been a slingshot customer of 3 years and everything was fine until I changed plans to combined power & fibre. 4 month in and still haven't received fibre, instead being overcharged on several occasions now. Customer Service has been terrible, of course everytime its a different agent with very strong (indian) accent that is often not to understand and the left hand doesnt seem to know what the right hand is doing. Would like to change providers.

Great ISP. I've been with them for 4(?) years now without issues.
Pros
Cheapest 'no contract' ISP out there. Service is rock solid always on, full speed.
Cons
Haven't found a way to find out how many GB we use each month (doesn't really matter as it's unlimited, but I'd like to know).
