These are very subjective! Vary depending on thinking at the time.
Pros
Other than extreme events eg Christchurch Earthquake and extreme weather at the repeater station our wireless broadband has been VERY reliable - amazing for our rural location. And we've had this for 10 years now.
Support from the Christchurch office has been great every time we've needed it. ...read more
Cons
We've experienced those even faster speeds available in the city and can't wait to avail ourselves of this back in our rural home...

We're on Wireless broadband currently, and have been since 29/9/07, with SCORCH on a Fullspeed/768 Kbps/15 GB including loyalty upgrade plan. At this stage we are wondering about upgrading but are very grateful to scorch for the opportunity to have been on broadband through their system to date. At a rural address where we are we count ourselves very fortunate to have been able to access 'broadband' and VOIP phone for the last 10 years.
Pros
It enabled us to shut down our copper wire service and use VOIP phone in addition to enjoying 'broadband' speeds on computer in our rural location.
Excellent support from Christchurch base with good problem solving when needed.
Cons
We haven't speeded up with the new decade... yet.

Appalling customer service. Takes then a week to reply to an email even if you reply 5 minutes after they have sent you one. Also takes an hour over the phone to be put through with someone that knows nothing at all about broadband...

The most disappointing feature is the slow download speed on a fibre connection - approx 3-4Mbps when it's advertised as 100-200Mbps. Nowhere close. I have neighbours on other providers who get much closer to this speed. The modem, Fritzbox, is excellent and it's nice to have a monthly discount on my mobile - but that makes it harder to switch, too.
Pros
Reliable connection
Good modem
Cons
Poor speed on fibre

VoIP phone good. Better than spark copper wire as no electric fence clicks. Broadband speed not the fastest and often can't stream Netflix. Had trouble at first when technician had the outside box(?) pointing to the wrong tower.
Pros
Good support most of the time.
Cons
Expensive. We are paying$137most months for broadband and phone.
