Worst internet company I've ever been with. Took them weeks to install Fibre after we had bought it, and then they delivered us an ADSL/VDSL modem, when we were paying for a Fibre plan. The Fibre modem we DID get was cheaply-made and had a relatively slow connection for Fibre. Now it has broken and will take over a week for a new one to be delivered.
Pros
- They give you 20GB of "emergency data" when your modem f**ks up. (Which is apparently very common for Spark users.)
- I am really trying to think of another pro but can't.
Cons
- They'll probably try to scam you. Don't buy a year-long plan and make sure your modem has fibre capabilities.
- Really poor customer service.
- Slow internet for the type you choose (ADSL, VDSL, Fibre etc.)
- Weak, unreliable modems. (Will break on its own, without any rough-handling.)
- Barely any wifi reach.
- Internet always cuts out randomly.

It was a great ISP with reliable service and speed until Vodafone took over.
Pros
Vodafone haven't made a complete mess of the service. Yet!
Cons
Poor quality help desk now.

left them because after i quit sky and started watching netflix my broadband bill doubled and I never realized for over 2 months, never had any calls advising me that I was paying between double to triple what I should be, and suggesting a better plan, as I used to get with the mobile plan. So, after 20 + years with them (mobile, landline, and later on, broadband) I shifted providers. Now paying less than I was on a 120 gig limit plan,and getting unlimited internet.

the $150 connection fee is a pain, but since it's no contract it makes sense why big companies locks customers on a contract so they can recover the connection fee.

Poor connection often have to turn the router off and on again to reconnect, Recently bought a laptop but cant connect due to there being another device already attached, not good if your living in a house with a few people.

We have been a customer for 3 years but over the last six months speed has been really slow in the weekend and at nights - I'm talking under 0.5mbps. During day it is up around 12-14mbps. A call has been opened with Lightwire for the last six months with no action taking place. We are in the process of looking at other providers.

All broadband plans and providers in NZ offer extremely expensive products and to be honest quite arrogant personal approach (like elsewhere in NZ anyway). The prices compare to those from so called 3-th world countries. Anyway nothing like what we would like to be seen as - developed world.
The advice and approach from broadbandcompare.co.nz was surprisingly nice and polite - thank you.

I have not started using it yet. I went for 40GB, 40NZD a months plan and purchsed that over expensive modem for 99NZD. God help that it at least does the job satisfactory!
Cons
Over expensive, pure rip-off, like all the other offers. Obviously NZ needs open market, free and healthy (no "mafia") competitors.

My advise, stay away! I had a connection with them which was dropping all the time. So I decided to switch to another ISP. I gave them one month prior notice, to cancel my account which is as per their policy. So I paid for the next month and asked them to end the service after that period. They confirmed that's ok, but actually terminated my account 20 days before the end of the paid period without any notice.
