Ben Lansdown 5.6

Don't value their customers at all. No reward for bundling with mobile, new customers get better perks and existing customers get lesser perks only when they nag and nag for them. Does what is says on the tin, but really let down by the customer service aspect.

Pros

Cheap fibre that does the job just as well as any other provider.

Cons

No element of customer care. Better off taking advantage of their new customer deals then jumping ship as soon as you can (without getting the penalties).

Good value when bundled with energy plans as their energy prices are quite competitive. Unfortunately had to switch in less than a month as they use CGNAT for IP address which cannot be used for port forwarding, VPN servers, remote access and accessing anything that requires port forwarding such as IP cameras and security alarms. If you do not need these functions then it is perfectly fine for normal users.

Pros

Quick and easy sign up. Good rates for power and bundled broadband. Speed is good.

Cons

CGNAT IP address. No dynamic sticky IP or Static IP. Port forwarding functions stop working.

I joined the 500Mbps, unlimited data, fibre plan. Initially the speeds were amazing but after 6 months it typically runs at less than 5Mbps. Amazingly, if I run Speedtest a couple of times it speeds up to around 40Mbps. Almost as if they detect that they're being checked and speed up the connection!

Service has slowed to a crawl.

Spent at lest 6 hours trying to get help on phone, first call 1 1/2 hours waiting for answer from 2degrees should be much better than this

Have been with NOW for a long time now and Have had no problems. It was simple to change from copper to fibre and they even gave me a better plan which was cheaper with unlimited bb then my old copper wire. good to talk with a human being.

They are a smaller but great ISP that offer great customer service, fast internet and also have a range of other services that I have been able to use in my business as well. All are located in NZ with offices across the country so makes it easy to deal with

Worst decision ever going with Slingshot. Their approach to Customer Service is to delay, deny, defer and makes sure you know any problems are caused by others.
I’ve had 2 major service interruptions each lasted over a week. Think about having no broadband for days on end and hours on the phone, mostly on hold, while Slingshot decides out who else to blame for the problem. Seriously, they haven’t got the wherewithal to figure out what’s wrong, let alone get it sorted.

Pros

Easy to join, attractive offer, catchy name.

Cons

Lack of knowledge, experience, and capability providing reliable broadband.
